Project Manager:   A project manager is in charge of supervising the business aspects of a mechanical construction project.   This involves overseeing contract activities on large field projects, such as communication with the general contractor, owners and/or architect.   A project manager is a business oriented person who handles procurement, budgeting and scheduling operations.   Qualifications include a 4 year engineering degree or equivalent, plus extensive (ten or more years) experience/knowledge of construction, design, finance, and management.   Qualified applicants should be able to apply innovative and effective management techniques to maximize employee performance. They must possess a thorough understanding of corporate and industry practices and standards.   Their positive impact on project activities requires superior communication and interpersonal skills.

Superintendent:   Superintendents oversee all field operations to ensure that self-performed and subcontracted work is properly staffed and is in compliance with contract documents and on schedule. Superintendents work with safety and quality control departments to help ensure that all policies are followed.

Estimator:   Estimators review project drawings and work with subcontractors and suppliers to develop accurate projections of project costs, including materials, manpower and equipment. Qualifications include knowledge of the HVAC mechanical and plumbing trade and the ability to read blueprints and interpret project specifications. Prior experience in estimation and/or change order take-off, and working knowledge of Quick Pen or Trade power's estimation software would be considered valuable.

HVAC Mechanics Installation and Service:   Mechanics assemble, install service and repair air conditioning, refrigeration, and heating units used in homes, schools, commercial, and industrial buildings. They are responsible for reviewing building plans and working drawings to determine work aids required and sequence of installations. They must also have the ability to diagnose causes of equipment breakdowns, test parts with appropriate instruments, disassemble and assemble parts, and make necessary repairs.

Helpers:   Helpers are responsible for the installation of plumbing fixtures and equipment. They must possess a working knowledge of plumbing systems including the following: domestic water, sanitary waste and vent, storm drains, natural gas. Duties involve installation of copper, PVC, CPVC, cast iron, steel piping, and kitchen equipment hook-up. The ability to read blueprints and operate heavy equipment is helpful.
